Attorney Pleads Guilty to Federal Drug Trafficking Charges
According to the U.S. Attorney, Jackie Ferrari, a Downey-based attorney, pleaded guilty yesterday to one count of federal distribution of more than 1,000 oxycodone pills.
According to court documents, Ferrari was arrested after a sting operation where she sold 50 oxycodone pills to an undercover agent for $1,200. The investigation sparked after a woman died after overdosing on fentanyl.
Ferrari would post ads on Craiglist offering oxycodone and other drugs under the name “foxy roxy dolls.” In her plea agreement, Ferrari admitted to requiring purchasers to ingest a pill in her presence to verify they were not undercover agents.
Ferrari faces up to 20 years in federal prison. Her sentencing hearing has been scheduled for October 21, 2019 before the United States District Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald.
